Lesser of Two Evils
Is it just me, or does anyone else think there's something fundamentally (no pun intended) fucked about the fact that Ted Haggard (president of the U.S. National Association of Evangelicals) would prefer to have people think he's a tweaker than think he's gay?

Fucking people.
Another thing I can't stand -- articles where people are described as having "admitted" to being gay. I mean, if you've been trying to hide it, that wording is fairly reasonable, but I see it used for people who aren't "admitting" anything. They're just *stating* it.
And then there's "self-confessed". I was reading an interview years ago where two gay men in the entertainment business were discussing how, since one of them came out, every single article about him has mentioned that he's gay. Doesn't matter what the actual topic of the article is -- that always gets in there, as if it's part of his name now.
Anyway, his friend laughed and said, "Are you self-confessed?" I hadn't noticed that term before, but I started watching for it and damned if I don't see it around. "Self-confessed homosexual..."
Nero Wolfe calls that use of "admit" and "confess" one of the shabbiest of lawyers' tricks, and I agree.
You don't admit that you went to the store or confess that you bought a carton of milk. You admit that you shoplifted at the store and confess that you stabbed someone on the way home.
Urg. As I say, fucking people. Fuck.

I am a monster... I was at work for the majority of the weekend... When I wasn't hearing about my father's desire to procreate... Or taking me mum grocery shopping. But we will have tea soon, yes? I call you.

Eez arright. As it turned out, the cold which came to dinner on Halloween called up its friend the Western Mongolian Hacking Death for a party in my lungs for most of the weekend. And the last two days.
Was it a good party, at least? Were bacteria getting laid?

G - "As I say, fucking people. Fuck."
I ask, is there enough time?
G - I feel relieved that Ted's out now. I mean, I always had a feeling he was a lying hypocrite and now I can point to the proof. (and I know I'm not the only one) When he uses the words, "admit" and "confess" I think they are appropriate given the harsh and hateful things he has said about homosexuals and bisexuals in the past.
Does it not also strike anyone else as grossly just that the head of such a (IMHO) hypocritical organization is a glaring hypocrite himself?
Mike Moore must be having a field day right now given the evangelicals are the topic of his latest project. can't wait for that one, even though I know he won't go nearly as far as he could. Like his last two.

Well, *I* certainly wasn't getting much sleep. And the phlegm production was pretty fierce, so yeah, I'd say something was being fruitful and multiplying.
How's *that* for a mental picture?
